Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land - the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.

The Gallery attracts around 1.4 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.

With our expanded campus recent opening the Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

**About the role**

The Collections Data and Information Manager oversees all aspects of the collection management system (CMS), collaborating with stakeholders to improve the system by ensuring data integrity is maintained and through the development of sustainable policies, procedures, and workflows.

This role involves day-to-day management of the CMS, supporting data integration, managing documentation, and providing strategic advice on the future direction of the CMS. The role requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of information and data management and ensures the CMS remains the primary repository for data related to the Art Gallery's collections and programs.

**What technical / soft skills you require**

1. Strong experience administering relational databases. Appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Studies, Museum Studies, Art, or a related field.

2. Experience in managing and leading a team.

3. Demonstrated technical and analytical skills and experience to drive process improvement.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

5. Effective stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

6. SQL experience is desired but not essential
