Talent Focus are working on behalf of our client to recruit a Logistics Specialist based out of their Moorabbin site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an internationally recognised production company, who are a market leader within their field of expertise.

We are looking for a self-driven, responsible and motivated person looking for a new challenge in Supply Chain and Logistics.

This is a hybrid role that will combine working on day-to-day freight and distribution activities while also working on continuous improvement projects and freight and 3PL Vendor management within logistics. This role will transact and manage the end-to-end logistics process from goods inwards right, through to warehousing, distribution and delivery to customer. This role is pivotal to the business and will act as the front-line point of contact to address any logistics issues that present. A key part of the role will be to determine best value delivery and storage of products within Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities will include:

- Managing relationships with 3PL providers and transport companies
- To take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures and make recommendations on improvements.
- Reviewing daily freight requirements with the production, warehouse and customer services teams and ensuring delivery requirements can be met.
- Developing supply chain strategies with Business, Director(s) and Account managers to deliver best value for delivery of goods to key accounts.
- To facilitate Goods Inwards freight operations with international freight forwarders to reduce costs and ensure arrival of goods on site at correct time.
- Rate management for overseas freight using the SHIPSTA rate card management system.
- Manage external warehouse storage. Perform weekly reconciliation of inventory, ensure compliance and timely operations and manage bi-annual stock take.
- To facilitate Export Goods Outwards freight operations with international freight forwarders to reduce costs and ensure the arrival of goods on site at correct time.
- Provide assistance and backup for the supply chain and customer service departments as requested by management.
- Analysing monthly freight costs vs budget and making targeted improvements to deliver best value to the business.
- Review and approve weekly freight invoices.
- Other duties as requested by management that are consistent with the nature of the position and/or seniority & experience.
- Follow service committee schedule to review Freight and warehousing services RFQ schedule and make recommendations to service committee where changes are require

Capabilities and Experience:

- Proven experience with ERP and MRP systems (SAP highly desirable).
- Advanced Excel is a definite requirement and power BI highly advantageous.
- A passion for continuous improvement and demonstrate the initiative to highlight and drive improvements.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a freight forwarding, purchasing or supply replenishment role.
- Tertiary qualifications in logistics/material management.
- Working knowledge of ink manufacturing/planning and forecasting.
- Comprehensive product knowledge.
- Excellent ability to analyse all relevant data and numbers.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels internally and externally.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail with a methodical work approach.
- Be highly organised and able to multitask.
- Capacity to function in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and goals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer and other office-based experience and skills with MS Office.
- Leadership, motivational and/or negotiating skills.
- Customer-centric and able to deal with all levels and different stakeholders.
