**About our opportunity**

As our **_Local Business Resilience Officer,_** this is a unique opportunity to work with two of our dynamic, community minded teams

Working in collaboration with both the Economic Development Branch AND the Disaster Management teams you will plan and undertake projects to support the delivery of the Moreton Bay disaster business resilience and Small Business Friendly Council programs of work.

You will provide on-the-ground support to local businesses across the region and seek to identify vulnerable industries and businesses in our region, and design interventions and plans within the scope of Council functions focused on supporting business across all phases of disaster: Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery (PPRR). You'll also:

- Contribute to the facilitation of positive regional business outcomes by fostering and maintaining deep, respectful, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop best practice disaster preparedness material focused at disaster resilience for businesses and industries aligning with council’s Regional Economic Development Strategy 2020 - 2041.
- Provide local business support to the small business community on issues linked to the Small Business Friendly Council commitments and coordinate annual reporting on the initiative.
- Provide an active presence, appropriately representing Council, in the Moreton Bay business community including attendance at out of business hours meetings and functions as required.
- Design and deliver programs that address gaps in knowledge and capability across the local business community that complement both State and Federal programs.
- Report up-to-date business-community intelligence to assist with better Council decision-making, resource allocation and prioritisation during all phases of disaster and work with Council’s Disaster Management unit to build the capacity and capability of the Economic Recovery Sub-Group.
