**Job Description - Technical Writer**

**Location**: Sydney, Australia

**Duration**: 12 months

**Joining**: Immediate

**Hybrid working with 3 days from office**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Documentation Creation**: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation such as user manuals, API documentation, technical guides, and release notes.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with product managers, developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and gather information.
- **Content Review**: Edit, standardize, or revise content prepared by other writers or stakeholders to ensure consistency and adherence to company standards.
- **User-Friendly Content**: Create clear, concise, and well-organized content that meets the needs of the target audience, whether they are technical or non-technical users.
- **Formatting and Layout**: Design and format documents to ensure they are visually appealing and easy to navigate.
- **Tool Utilization**: Use various content management systems, documentation tools, and software to produce and manage documentation.
- **Feedback Integration**: Gather user feedback to continuously improve documentation quality and usability.
- **Stay Updated**: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure documentation is current and relevant.
- **Training Materials**: Develop training materials and guides for internal and external users as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer or in a related role.
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Microsoft Office, or similar.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Basic understanding of programming languages and software development processes.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Markdown is a plus.

**Soft Skills**:

- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in [specific industry or domain].
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and best practices.
- Experience with creating video tutorials or multimedia content.
- Certification in technical writing or related fields.
