**The Role**
The key duties of the role include the management and analysis of complex information related to the Inspector General of the ADF Afghanistan Inquiry. As the Assistant Director Information Access and Assurance in the Afghanistan Inquiry Response Task Force, you will:
- Manage and respond to requests for information from the Office of the Special Investigator.
- Manage a small team and work within an existing information management framework.
- Perform assurance checks on data to ensure a consistent approach to handling sensitive information.
- Be accountable for data that is being released and anticipate and identifying any issues prior to it being released.
- Have a keen eye for detail and manage workflow expectations of multiple stakeholders, by offering support and solutions to issues, to support the deliverable of the team.
- Handle sensitive information and be exposed to objectionable written, verbal and pictorial material that may trigger discomfort.
**About our Team**
The IGADF Afghanistan Inquiry, was initiated by Defence in 2016 to determine whether there was any substance to rumours and allegations relating to possible breaches of the Law of Armed Conflict by members of the Special Operations Task Group. The Afghanistan Inquiry Response Task Force (AIRTF) is the lead for Defence’s response to matters arising from the Inquiry.
The Information Access and Assurance team is responsible for:
- The coordination of the release of information to requesting entities;
- Support to enable controlled access and ensure physical security of information; and
- Coordinating all requests for information related to the Inquiry.
You will be an independent worker who can identify and prioritise your work to ensure effective contribution to team outcomes and deadlines, taking the lead where necessary to progress your work. Your attention to detail will support you to work autonomously yet be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the team.
