**About the opportunity**

Do you have experience working with databases, virtual servers and understand cloud-based systems? Our Library Operations team is seeking a dedicated and team-focused individual to provide advanced technical support to the Library team.

If you are a hard-working and advanced computer user who enjoys working with databases we would like to hear from you. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong technical skills, have experience in database programming, and statistical reporting and have an advanced understanding of computer systems.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Relevant computer-based qualifications (eg TAFE certificate), industry qualifications, or Library Technician qualifications (eligible for Library technician membership of ALIA), or substantial completion of qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based databases and virtual servers
- Excellent working knowledge of databases and the ability to extract data eg Boolean and SQL queries
- Demonstrated high-level skills in information technology
- Minimum 2 years IT support experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Current class C driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working in a public library
- Experience in managing a Library Management System (LMS)
- Skills in Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Skills in HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML)
- Ability to prioritise and manage workflow within time frames
- Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Experience with Application Programming Interface (API)
- Excellence in using Microsoft Office
- Ability to extract statistical data from databases and provide analysis using Excel.
- Ability to write reports and queries, as well as provide an analysis of the results
- Experience in planning and delivering on-time technology projects
- Experience in using TechnologyOne
- Experience in using HPE Content Manager CM9
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently
- Availability to work flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends as rostered.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,342.43 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 10.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
