**About the School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences (EECMS)**:
**Your new role**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement image processing techniques for accurate methane emission measurement using drone-captured data.
- Use satellite imagery to support and enhance drone-based measurements and operations.
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments involving multi-drone systems.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and external partners.
- Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in related projects.

**Qualifications**:

- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in control theory, and satellite imagery.
- Proficiency in IT and programming skills, including experience with relevant software and tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++, ROS).
- Hands-on experience with drone technology, including setup, calibration, and operation of multi-drone systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with satellite imagery analysis and integration into drone-based systems.
- Knowledge of methane detection technologies and environmental monitoring.
- Previous experience in a postdoctoral research role or similar academic/research setting.

**Selection criteria**:

- A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role).
- Proven high level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching and learning.
- A significant contribution to scholarship in teaching and learning with an emerging record of success in winning external grants to support teaching projects and initiatives.
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- An emerging record of peer reviewed publications in high quality journals.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and unit/course coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead teaching and learning initiatives and provide mentoring to less experienced staff.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
