Qantas Freight is Australia’s largest independent air freight services business, getting over 4000 air freight shipments per day across more than 500 destinations globally.

Your new position as Route Manager Capacity & Yield will see you responsible for managing the capacity on our B747-400F network to maximise revenue and meet Qantas Freight objectives. Located within the Qantas Freight Network and Margin team, this position also has responsibility for the financial performance of the allocated routes and manages performance through implementing revenue maximisation strategies by working with Sales, Customer Service and the Network Operations teams. The role will also provide afterhours support coverage on a rotating basis.

You’ll have
- Tertiary qualifications in Aviation or Business desirable
- Air freight industry knowledge and experience is mandatory
- Previously set strategies for revenue and margin maximisation on allocated routes
- Previously provided support and been available for afterhours coverage on a rotating roster
- Responded to changes in capacity and promptly meeting request for capacity from internal stakeholders
- Reviewing capacity usage on managed routes to pursue opportunities to improve future revenue outcomes
- Reported on network financial performance and market activity on allocated routes
- Collaborated with the network pricing team to implement pricing strategies
- Driven network and Margin business improvement initiatives
- Knowledge and experience with iCargo, Power BI and Airvision (desirable but not essential)
- Set budget goals to improve revenue/flight, load factor and yield targets in light of achieving total freighter revenue budget
- Responded to changes in network capacity, quantified impact and communicated to necessary stakeholders. eg. aircraft changes, route changes, weather impact
- Provided detailed analysis on routes to identify areas for improvement in relation to yield management
- Managed ULD configurations to maximise capacity and revenue
- Excellent commercial analytical, influencing and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team, be highly motivated and goal driven
