Deputy Care & Security Manager

- As part of our recently extended contract with the Department of Justice, Ventia have a rare opportunity for a **Deputy **Care and Security Manager** to join the **Armadale Court House** team in WA- This role will see you as a critical member of the operational management team, where you will be supported and mentored by the Care & Security Manager and will see you assist in the delivery of an effective and efficient court operation and support the development of your team.- In addition, you will ensure the correct deployment of staff across the region and be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Care & Custody Officers under your control, as well as the management of custody areas within court.**Your duties will include but are not limited to**:

- Supervise staff in the manned court area
- Prepare duty rosters, including allocating daily duties and staff
- Liaise with the Court Coordinator on all staffing matters
- Check all warrants and other relevant official paperwork in your delegated court
- Ensure that all courts within the cluster are effectively manned
- Ensure monthly audit compliance

**Skills and experience**:

- Certificate III in Corrective Practice, preferred but not mandatory
- Senior First Aid & CPR or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience supervising and supporting staff, preferably within a custodial environment
- Thorough knowledge of the PIC court and custody business
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong leadership potential
- Great computer skills for the purposes of reporting and ensure the data capture management system (ePEMS) is kept up to date in all aspects
- Great communication skills in order to engage with stakeholders including courts and police amongst other
- The ability to problem solve and act on your own initiative
- Applicants must be flexible (working hours) and have a positive outlook

**Other mandatory conditions, to be eligible for this position**:

- Be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen (people holding visas will not be considered)
- Be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Police Check, Criminal History Check & Working with Children Check
- Undergo a pre-employment clinic medical including a drug & alcohol test
