**About the Role**

We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for a Transition Performing Arts Centre Manager to join our Community Services Team to play an instrumental role in leading the set-up and operations for Wollondilly Shire Council’s Performing Arts Centre.

The Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre will be the first project in a significant Cultural Precinct for the Wollondilly community. As a new flexible format, studio theatre it will be a unique venue in the region, attracting a range of contemporary theatre performance, community and commercial uses

The role of the Transition Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing the operating, administrative, planning and initial programming for the service, ensuring positive outcomes are achieved. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

- University degree qualifications and/or extensive experience in performing arts centre management within a performing arts venue at a senior level.
- Expert knowledge of, and/or experience in, setting up a performing arts centre venue.
- Experience in creating effective relationships with community and commercial hirers as well as developing a program of activities that cultivates an engaged audience for the venue.
- Experience in providing direction for performing arts venues to be able to drive utilisation as well as establish connections with the broader arts industry to ensure the ongoing visitation of the venue
- Ability to plan, organise, set priorities and manage time so that objectives are achieved in an agreed timeframe
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form, excellent presentation skills, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Capacity to work collaboratively across a large organisation
