**Position Information**:
Fairy Meadow Demonstration School empowers students from pre-school to Year 6 to be curious, creative, life-long learners. Our school fosters long established and strong links with the University of Wollongong Faculty of Education. Nestled conveniently in the business and leisure hub of Fairy Meadow in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, our school has a proud history of serving a diverse, multi-cultural and supportive school community. Fairy Meadow Demonstration School is an open, inclusive and well-resourced educational environment. The school features a pre-school, support and mainstream classes and is proud to work in partnership with the University of Wollongong in demonstrating innovative and high-quality teaching practice to hundreds of pre-service teachers every year. Our school enrolment of 366 students includes 13 mainstream and 5 support classes (consisting of one AU, two IM and two IO classes). Our students benefit immeasurably from skilled and dedicated staff who promote high expectations for success and place a high importance on teacher quality. Fairy Meadow Demonstration School seeks authentic and effective parental involvement through regular Parents and Citizens Association meetings in addition to curriculum based and whole school events. We strive to continuously improve our service delivery and are committed to collaborating with our community in building and nurturing a school culture that is student centred, strongly focussed on learning and reflective of the hopes and aspirations of all stakeholders.

1. Demonstrated excellence in building collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders based on relational trust, high visibility and well-developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
2. Excellent instructional leadership knowledge and skills to mentor and support P-6 staff as a member of a high-performing, collaborative leadership team committed to improving teaching practice
3. Proven ability to model to and inspire colleagues in leading new curriculum and through the use of teaching practice proven by research to be effective in improving outcomes for students
4. Ability to work successfully across all stages to effectively initiate, lead and evaluate the implementation of the school’s strategic directions and whole school programs to achieve the school’s vision.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
