We are seeking an experienced, Medical Receptionist/Secretary who will work in close collaboration with the practice nurse and the principal ensuring the smooth administration of a surgical practice.

As a team member the role will involve the efficient running of the practice engaging in a courteous, prompt and professional way with patients, referrers and the practice principal.

**Principal responsibilities include**:

- Booking new and review patient appointments
- Booking surgical lists
- Liaising with operating theatres and anaesthetist rooms
- Reception duties for clinics
- Billing and receipting patient accounts
- Liaise with practice bookkeeper and practice typist
- Liaising with suppliers
- Communicate with surgeon regarding relevant patient communications or matters
- Use of medical practice software - training in Shexie can be arranged if required
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Work location - onsite within the clinic

Essential criteria
- **Only applicants with experience working in a specialist surgical or medical practice will be considered**:

- Attention to detail
- Maintaining strict patient and practice confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
- Polite and professional manner
- Works well within a small team

Work Authorisation: Australia

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Medical-surgical: 1 year (required)
