Comprising of a wide range of qualified and experienced doctors, nurses, and administrators, the team ensure that the Murdoch community is serviced in a friendly and professional atmosphere.

The Role

The Administration Officer works within the Health Services and provides clinic reception and administrative services to support the Murdoch University Health: Medical Service. Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Providing confidential professional clinic reception services, prioritising and scheduling appointments for doctors, nurses, and counsellors at the South Street Campus.- Attend all in-person and telephone enquiries from students, staff, and members of the public - ensuring appropriate responses are given to client needs: assess, evaluate, and prioritise.- Respond to clients who may be distressed or in crisis.- Manage confidential patient files in accordance with Health: Medical & Counselling Service Policy.- Provide administrative support to doctors, nurses, outreach support coordinators and counsellors, including taking minutes.- Provide specialised financial administration of Medicare, OSHC Worldcare, Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident claims/invoices.- Assist with triaging medical emergencies as required.- Coordinate ordering of stationery stock and supplies for the Health Services.

What you’ll bring to this role- Completion of a diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.- High level professional experience in medical reception and practice, patient management software.- Demonstrated ability to address customer needs in a positive, empathetic, and efficient manner within challenging circumstances.- Ability to interact effectively with young adult clients from culturally diverse backgrounds.- High organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage time.- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
