- As a Waste Developments Officer, you will sit within the Environment & Planning Directorate of Georges River Council and assist in the day-to-day operation of waste services, working as part of a team to improve operational/access collection matters, source separation, resource recovery, education and strategic planning matters, with a particular focus on Multi Unit Developments.Georges River Council is a leading, people-focused organisation with approximately 600 staff members. The Environment & Planning Directorate are looking for an experienced Waste Developments Officer to join their friendly team on a permanent basis, in the Civic Centre, based in Hurstville. The main responsibilities in this role include working collaboratively with Council waste collection contractors to undertake risk assessments at new Multi Unit Developments to determine suitability for wheel in/wheel out service and resolving vehicle or staff issues and coordinating with external stakeholders such as Building / Strata Managers. In this role you will also review Waste Management Plan’s alongside architectural drawings lodged with Development Applications and provide commentary.

**Opportunity Details**
- Permanent, full-time role - 70 hours per fortnight
- Salary from $91,283.24 to $105,765.05 per annum plus 11% superannuation

**Qualifications, Certificates & Licences**
- Tertiary qualifications in related field (such as waste management or urban planning) and/or significant relevant experience in a related field.
- Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence

**Essential**
- Ability to adhere to established project management methodologies with demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation.
- High level of customer service focus, and the ability to resolve conflicts, disputes and problems effectively.
- Ability to observe details and record information and develop databases in an accurate and legible manner to inform operational improvement from contractors
- Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data, and a high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to liaise professionally and consistently with external stakeholders whereby negotiation and mediation may be required.
- High level of organisation and time management skills.
- Sound level of computer literacy including the ability to use an iPad, mobile phone, camera, Microsoft Office Suite, and a diverse range of other systems and technology independently and effectively, and to adapt to technology changes and updates where required
- Demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a team and autonomously

**Desirable**
- Experience in Local Government
- Statutory planning experience
