_**Background**_

Developing quality social media content is crucial for success in the digital space. A social media officer can create compelling and relevant content tailored directly to our target audience, even further they can provide powerful advertising tools to reach specific demographics and target markets. We also need to stay competitive in today’s digital age and having a strong social media presence is crucial in achieving that.

This person will gather new, fresh and engaging content for our social media platforms. This role includes editing content, scheduling posts, and capturing different student lead events such as SRC Campaigns and Collective events. This person will have high aptitude for storytelling through expert photography, editing and short form video creation, all with a strong student voice.

The UTS Students’ Association (UTSSA) represent, support and advocate for the UTS student body. Run by students, for students, we run a number of free services to help UTS students get the support that they need. These services include - Academic Advocacy and Advice, Peer Tutoring, Bluebird Pantry and Night Owl Noodles, and Vertigo publications.
- **About The Role**_
- Creation, production and editing of imagery and video content for assets, social media posts (including stories);
- Writing of copy for social media posts;
- Shooting, editing and producing video content for blogs and TikTok;
- Management of all group social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok)
- Weekly reporting and analysis on the performance of content across digital channels, demonstrating growth and engagement;
- Alignment of all the above in relation to the overarching organisational/brand strategy.
- The specific role of this position will also be dictated and aligned with the Vertigo Research feedback on what Student Media should be.
- This position would be paid at $34.89 an hour and rostered on for 7 hours a week.
- You will be expected to work with Collective Office Bearers and create content either on request or if needed to support a central SRC campaign.
- **About You**_
- 1-2 years’ experience in communication, social media or graphic design
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and other Graphic Design platforms
- Ability to promote initiatives, services and events via all social media platforms utilising internal and external communication channels.
- High level of attention to detail, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work within a dynamic team
- Decent understanding of the UTS Social Landscape
- **What You Need To Know**_
- 7 hours a week at $34.89 an hour plus 17% superannuation
- The Social Media Officer may be required to work out of normal office hours on occasion. You may be required to travel and to attend protests.
- In signing an employment agreement, employees undertake to maintain confidentiality in the conduct of their duties.
- It is expected that as Social Media Officer you would adhere by the Social Media Policy, Media Relations Policy, Partnership Policy and Brand Guidelines.
- You will be reporting directly the President of the UTSSA and would liase with the Manager of Marketing and Strategic Projects.

In your portfolio please include:

- Your experience working with design programs
- Previous creative approaches towards graphic design and campaigns you have done in the past
- Demonstration of how you’ve been able to promote and advocate for an issue affecting students/young people through social media
- **Selection Criteria**:_
- Undertaking or have a relevant tertiary qualification in communications, visual communications and/or marketing at UTS.
- Experience in developing social media content that is topical, effective and consistent with branding guidelines.
- Experience in creating and delivering successful marketing and communications campaigns, with a preferred focus on digital marketing.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design, creating visual identities across a variety of platforms and mediums.
