**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Assistant Director, Digital Engagement & Operations within Parliamentary Engagement Branch to support the ongoing success of the online shop as part of the Parliament Shop refresh strategy, and champion quality digital engagement and support digital infrastructure and processes in our retail program.

The E-Commerce and Product Development section is part of the Parliamentary Engagement Branch, delivering a destination shop (onsite and online) to enhance the Australian Parliament’s status as an iconic building and location of national significance. The branch’s business and cultural change strategies are underpinned by extraordinary customer service which will enhance the visitor experience, deepen community engagement, build understanding of the iconic art and architecture, and support the work of the Australian Parliament. The section is committed to being a sustainable, efficient, and collaborative team that embraces innovation and change to deliver exceptional client focus.

The successful applicant will work with the Director, E-Commerce and Product Development to manage the e-commerce platform for the Parliament Shop including an online shop, point of sale and related apps. You will also develop and implement successful e-marketing platforms and campaigns to drive visitation and sales. You will be a confident communicator with engaging writing skills and an ability to support and implement quality design in an online environment. You will embrace collaboration with diverse stakeholders and be committed to continuous improvement - using data to inform and drive business outcomes and improve experiences for all stakeholders.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
2. Support research-based online customer service, translating customer needs into exceptional digital experiences. Use this knowledge to set and achieve delivery targets for a successful implementation online shop and related digital operations including stocktakes, digital infrastructure (point of sale, inventory management, EFTPOS) and related apps. This includes staff training, onboarding and support.

3. Develop engaging content for our digital, e-marketing and social media platforms including copy, photography, video, blogs, newsletters and events to drive visitation, engagement and sales.

4. Develop and maintain positive and effective stakeholder relationships across Parliament House and external networks, including technical stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of strategic outcomes.

5. Manage the small, dedicated Parliament Shop team to deliver customer service for the Parliament Shop (onsite and online) and be a service leader within the Parliamentary Engagement Branch.

6. Undertake other projects in the Parliamentary Engagement Branch and assignments of a complex nature, including cultural programs and visitor engagement.

7. Research and prepare strategic advice, information and briefing notes of a complex nature including drafting of response letters and briefs as required.

8. Promote and maintain a safe, healthy and collaborative environment that exhibits a professional level of conduct.
