The Technology and Digital Assurance function is responsible for assuring that the Technology and Digital Programs Group deliver Services Australia’s technology and digital services in a way that meets legislative obligations, the expectations of government, and aligns with both our own policies and industry best practice. Internal Audit professionals inspect internal client’s operations and processes and express an unbiased and independent opinion as to whether they comply with the standards of the entity. They manage, interpret, analyse and evaluate audit evidence to develop and provide recommendations to resolve weaknesses in controls and assist the achievement of outcomes.

Assistant Director Technology and Digital Assurance:
The Assistant Director of Technology and Digital Assurance supports the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Technology and Digital Assurance framework and associated governance models. The Assistant Director Technology and Digital Assurance supports prioritisation and implementation of assurance activities in relation to Technology and Digital planning and operations, providing confidence to the System Owners, Senior Executive and invested stakeholders that a disciplined approach to assurance is being undertaken.
The successful applicant will lead a team, developing a plan which includes stakeholder management and communication to operationalise the newly developed Technology and Digital Assurance Framework (the Framework) and manage the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Framework and associated governance models.
They will also be responsible for supporting the prioritisation and implementation of assurance activities in relation to the Technology and Digital Programs Group, providing confidence to system owners, Senior Executive and invested stakeholders that a disciplined approach to assurance is being taken.

Assistant Director Audit:
The Assistant Director Audit ensures high quality, consistent and timely internal audit reports are delivered by contracted service providers with relevant audit expertise. They contribute to the strategic planning of the branch including the development of the internal audit work program.
The Assistant Director Audit works under the broad direction of a Director to deliver quality outcomes, and internal audits in particular. They collaborate across teams to ensure that contracts and procurement activities are effectively managed, and that all probity, reporting and compliance obligations are met.
They exercise a high degree of independence in sound decision-making while considering the implications of their judgement on their area of responsibility and the wider agency. They liaise and work with key stakeholders to foster partnerships, provide strategic advice and optimise the effectiveness of internal audits in their area of responsibility. In particular they bring resolution to points of contention arising during audits, including in development of audit plans and recommendations, where possible, and they escalate appropriately as required. In performing a leadership role, they support innovation, changes in workplace practices and organise work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction.
