**About the Role**

As Chief Medical Officer (CMO), you will strategically lead a large and diverse medical workforce and manage medical services including research and medical education across the Health Service.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the CMO will provide strategic and operational oversight of all clinical governance matters, medico-legal and clinical risk programs including leading patient safety, patient experience and clinical excellence through the implementation of our Best Care framework.

As the CMO you will ensure that medical services are high performing and actively pursue opportunities for efficiencies and improvements, ensuring that services are provided in a contemporary way, supported by clinically sound evidence and that all medical staff observe and adhere to the highest professional standards.

In overseeing the credentialing and scope of practice processes for Senior and Junior Medical Staff at Western Health, you will establish an operation plan aligned with the organisational strategic plan.

As a key member of the Executive Team, you will demonstrate previous Executive / Senior level experience and a capacity to strategically lead a large and diverse workforce.
