Project Cost Controller

The Project Controls department is the central team within the Australian and New Zealand Construction group, responsible for the management of all financial aspects of Wind Farm projects under construction in the region.
As the Cost Controller you will be responsible for the Cost Control and financial accountability of wind farm construction projects, reporting data to the relevant Project Manager.
You will be working in a team of friendly and like minded coordinators overseeing the financial status of all Vestas projects in the Australian and New Zealand region.
Project Management Office (PMO), Construction APAC is a newly formed department, formed to provide support to project construction and ensure standardised best practice is applied during construction.
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare payment claims and raise each claim according to the reported cash flow and in accordance with the contract requirements
- Forecast cash inflows and outflows on a weekly basis with input from the Project Manager
- Monitor project budget to ensure all expenditures are within the allowance
- Forecast POC using the budget model with input from Project Manager and monitor monthly. Raise uncertainties as soon as foreseen
- Responsible for project reporting and analysis
- Costs to complete forecasting
- Maintain and update billing plan
- Raise Purchase requisitions and Purchase orders
- Maintain Project WBS / Network activity structures
- Follow up NCR / Journal Recoveries
- Manage the administrative aspects of the project
- Prepare payment claims and raise each claim according to the reported cash flow and in accordance with the contract requirements
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration/Commerce/Accounting or other Project Accounting / Project Management related fields
**Competencies**
- Strong finance/accounting background with reporting and reconciliation skills
- Financial controlling and administration experience in complex project environment
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Word, Access and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to project timelines
- Self-managed, with good communication skills and strong work ethics
- Structured approach to problem solving
- Good understanding of project management principals
