ARC Information and Intake Officer

This officer is a key member of the ARC team. The officer is the first point of contact most members of the public have with ARC when they seek access to or information about the centre’s services. The officer’s role involves undertaking an initial needs identification assessment and ensuring accurate and good quality information is captured so that all enquiries can be responded to in an efficient and effective manner. The position-holder is responsible for reception, providing information to callers, and directing callers to appropriate internal and external services. The officer also prepares reports for use in service analysis.
- 12-month maximum term contract position until July 2024, with possible extension dependent on funding
- Located in Sydney CBD
- Salary range for 22.5 hours per week of $42,120 - $45,162 depending on experience and qualifications plus 11% super + not for profit salary packaging benefits
- Excellent not for profit tax benefits

The salary for the position is based on Level 3 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award.

Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in a similar role in the community service or legal sectors. Role includes reception, responding to enquiries and incoming referrals, plus administrative duties
- Excellent people skills including ability to communicate simply and clearly with people with cognitive impairment who may have difficulty with understanding
- Ability to maintain calm, non-judgemental, and compassionate approach in challenging situations and with people who may be distressed or frustrated
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage competing priorities
- Strong skills and experience using Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point. Experience with Office 365 an advantage
- Ability to use data bases including producing reports
