**APS4 Payroll Officer**
- ** Federal Government Opportunities in Sydney CBD**:

- ** 6-month contract with the possibility of extension**:

- **$44 - $48 per hour + super (depending on experience)**

Our Federal Government client provides independent review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian Government and some non-government bodies. They have a number of Divisions: Social Services and Child Support Division, Migration and Refugee Division and the General and Other Divisions.

The
**Payroll Officer** works within the Principal Registry and the Human Resource Team. The role provides a high level of customer service to staff and members in processing salaries and administering and providing advice on conditions of employment.

**The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to**:

- Processing, checking and maintaining accurate personnel and payroll data on the HR management information system (currently Aurion)
- Providing support, guidance and assistance to other payroll and HR staff.
- Preparing correspondence relating to Payroll and personnel related matters.
- Ensure appropriate file maintenance and record-keeping in accordance with audit requirements.
- Liaising with, and provide timely response and assistance to, employees, managers, employee representatives and other agencies in relation to payroll, employment and HR management and business matters

**Selection Criteria**:

- Experience with Government payroll and/or experience with the Aurion payroll system is essential.
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation, HR Policies, Enterprise Agreement as they relate to the payroll function.
- Strong organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to plan, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and contribute to the achievement of team and organisational goals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide an accurate and timely service to relevant stakeholders, both within the department and externally.
