We are looking for a skilled
**Governance Officer **to join our NSW Government client
***on a
**short-term contract until 12/05/2023**
***with a potential extension.

**Responsibilities of the role**:

- Assist with third-party consultations made to the Agency.

Provide advice on privacy related matters to staff, ensuring personal information is managed in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
- Assist with external information access and privacy reviews (Information and Privacy Commission and NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal).
- Provide support for statutory and other reporting functions relating to privacy and information access.
- Support the development and improvement of internal information access and privacy process and procedures.

**Challenges of the role**:

- Influencing staff and third parties who you are dependent upon for timely delivery of key operational processes.
- Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders, including EPA staff, other government agencies and members of public, to manage expectations on matters which may be sensitive or highly confidential.

Essential skills:

- Previous demonstrated experience working in an environment requiring interpretation and advice on legislation
- Sound knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation relating to the release of information and the protection of privacy and personal information.
