The opportunity

A Lead Consultant in Cyber Security will work to ensure QBE remains safe, secure, and resilient. This intellectually challenging and highly influential role is part of a Group Cyber Security Consulting team accountable for safeguarding QBE from increasingly sophisticated Cyber and information security threats.

As an experienced technical Cyber Security practitioner, you will own and drive significant risk reduction initiatives and ensure information security risk is considered and mitigated across the core business, 3rd party suppliers, programs, and projects.

Your new role

A day in this role may look a bit like this;- Delivering ‘Secure By Design’ assessments, to ensure risks and priorities are within business risk appetite- Providing technical security advice, solutioning and assurance in line with industry best practices across QBE’s projects and initiatives- Partnering with divisional and global stakeholders to continuously improve security consultancy services and architecture to influence the development of strategic approaches to complex challenges- Taking personal accountability for seeking out and identifying technical or business security weaknesses, seeing mitigation through to a secure conclusion- Role modelling the creation, innovation and negotiation of solutions and risk mitigation strategies, driving fast paced and agile mindset- Building strong relationships with divisional business and project stakeholders to proactively identify issues and continuously improve security consultancy services for divisional and global projects.- Contributing to development of a globally consistent security consultancy and advisory practice, including development of relevant processes and templates.- Partnering with Enterprise, Infrastructure, Applications and Security Architecture teams to ensure appropriate security engagement with projects throughout the project lifecycle and SDLC, and ongoing, comprehensive Security Service delivery.- Determining own work priorities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of the function’s objectives.

About you

To be successful as Cyber Security Lead you will have extensive varied experience across the Cyber and IT industry, highlighting any prior experience in consulting.

You will also have a;- Problem solving mindset with tenacity to see solutions through to delivery.- Demonstrable ability to coach a Cyber team to develop Cyber talent to build technical excellence and decision-making confidence- Insightful and expert ability to identify people, processes or technology risks impacting Cyber Security posture; getting into the mindset of an adversary- Strong demonstrable experience with security and risk-based standards such as ISO27001, NIST800, PCI-DSS- Experienced in helping a business, its’ partners and customers to become more innovative and fast paced delivering improved business agility- Experienced in working across multiple in house and outsourced service models, time zones and collaborating in a multi-cultural environment
