We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Print Operator to join our existing and fast-growing mission-driven team. We're looking to hire urgently to meet growing demand during an exciting stage of growth.

Job Summary:
As a Print Operator at Hero Packaging, you'll play a crucial role in bringing our eco-friendly packaging products to life. You'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of printing equipment, ensuring our high-quality printed materials are produced efficiently and on schedule. You'll learn on the job from our highly-experienced Production Manager how to use our existing equipment and learn our processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Maintenance:

- Prepare and set up printing equipment according to job specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous and optimal machine performance.

2. Material Handling:

- Hand feed products, including shipping mailers and boxes, into the printer.
- Monitor and replenish ink and other supplies as needed during production. Conduct routine printer cleaning processes.

3. Quality Control:

- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that printed materials meet the established standards for colour accuracy, registration, and overall print quality.
- Making sure our customers are happy every time

4. Job Execution:

- Operate printing equipment, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Adjust customer artwork as needed to setup for sample printing and production runs.
- Adjust settings as necessary to meet job specifications and maintain quality standards.

5. Record Keeping:

- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities produced, materials used, optimum print settings and any issues encountered.

6. Safety and Compliance:

- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.

7. Collaboration:

- Work closely with other team members to coordinate workflow and meet production schedules.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Print Operator or similar role.
- Proficient in operating various types of printing equipment, ideally for packaging or promotional products.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for machine setup and job tracking.
- Basic graphic design experience to adjust custom artwork as needed for each job.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 15kg).
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity to handle small components and perform fine adjustments.
