**Your role**

A unique opportunity for a Product Manager - Industrial, has become available to maintain and grow our business across Australia and New Zealand.

The product manager role is pivotal at Ixom, being central to how we manage our commercial activities. Ultimately, you will manage the P/L of your suite of products driving excellence in product sourcing, market analysis, strategic negotiations and identifying and responding to industry trends. You will drive the marketing of new products and technically support business development in collaboration with our sales force.

This role is the ultimate commercial opportunity within the chemical industry, ideal for someone looking to realise their professional potential; leveraging their sales and procurement acumen and potentially open exciting future managerial career opportunities in a great business and industry.

This critical supplier facing role will see you manage and develop key relationships with our key global principals and sources, leveraging your networks and experience to identify and develop strategic growth opportunities, whilst collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes. You will be a driven and resilient self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and flexibly, to develop and grow sales profitability across you assigned portfolio.

**Your responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance of product, packaging, documentation and Suppliers/Principals with Ixom requirements and external legislation and regulations
- Cultivate and sustain strong principal and supplier relationships via engagement planning, regular visits and reporting
- Develop market based strategies for key end markets and connect with industry via customer visits, conferences, exhibitions and membership of key industry associations
- Contribute to the development of financial budgets; monitoring sales and gross margin, comparing with forecasts & budgets and taking corrective action
- Develop and implement strategies for products, packaging and processes that meet Ixom's sustainability targets
- Continual sales revenue, volume, cost and margin management - Developing and implementing pricing strategies and monitoring conformance
- Build a pipeline of organic growth opportunities within current customer base and beyond
- Facilitate a positive and enabling environment of teamwork and collaboration by working closely with other internal colleagues eg logistics, planners, regulatory, quality, finance, sales
- Meet working capital and agreed debtor compliance targets
- Ensure that local and international freight is optimised and reviewed regularly for improvement opportunities
- Maintain forecasts of ongoing requirements at customer/product level
- Ensure minimum local stockholdings are held to ensure reliable supply of ex stock materials; meet Ixom targets for DIH, DPO, SLOBS and expired-stock write-off

**Your skills & experience**
- 10+ years in a senior commercial role within chemical or related industry
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Polymer Science or Business highly preferred
- Experience in substantial contract negotiations, sales and/or product management in B2B setting
- Keen understanding and working knowledge of major chemical industry manufacturers and processes especially within coatings, polymers, and additives segments.
- Genuine new business development expertise with the ability to create opportunities through various channels
- Being well versed in international trade, currency movements and conducting business across Asia will be a major advantage
- Resilient, self-motivated, systematic, and driven by profitable growth
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage at executive level with multinational suppliers and customers
