Working collaboratively to achieve this Vision, our Payroll team build a positive employee experience through the timely and accurate processing of our fortnightly payroll. The team strive for excellence through their daily interactions with employees, providing accurate and timely information whilst continuing to deliver all payroll functions.

**About the Opportunity**

Georges River Council is seeking to appoint a passionate Head of Payroll. In this role, you will lead the payroll team in efficiently delivering the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing on a fortnightly basis, as well as reporting on workforce analytics and administration of Council's Human Resources Information System. You will provide leadership and support at an operational and strategic level, driving high performance service delivery, leading system upgrades and enhancements, and ensuring compliance with statutory, Award, taxation and other regulatory requirements.
- Permanent full time - 70 hours per fortnight
- Salary from $106,431.35 - $123,314.16 per annum plus 10.5% superannuation
- Vehicle Allowance - $8,580
- Located in Hurstville CBD - 5-minute walk from train station

**What We're Looking For**

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge and experience of the payroll function
- Considerable professional experience in preparing and processing payroll for an organisation of similar size
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team
- High level of organisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements for employee and organisational information
- Must have up to date COVID-19 vaccination status, meaning you have had all the doses recommended for your age and health needs, as defined by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation, and provide Council with evidence of vaccination, or an accepted medical contraindication. Council reserves the right to confirm the validity of contraindications in accordance with all relevant guidelines, and to direct a Worker to undertake an independent medical examination in relation to the issuance of a medical contraindication.
