The Role
The research group focuses on uncovering the cell-mediated and molecular mechanisms driving fibrosis in tissues and organs, emphasizing novel therapeutic approaches. This role specifically investigates autoimmunity in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, building upon an established research program involving the analysis of human cells, tissues, and animal models. Collaborating with the Institute for Respiratory Health, our team operates from purpose-built laboratories at the Harry Perkins Research building on the QEII medical health campus in Nedlands.
What you’ll bring to this role
- PhD in Biomedical Science or a relevant area
- Demonstrated research expertise in areas relevant to immunopathobiology, wound healing and fibrosis
- Demonstrated expertise in cellular and molecular biology approaches
- Experience in the use of image analysis platforms such as micro-computed tomography, confocal laser scanning microscopy
- Ability to manage and analyse large complex datasets such as proteomics, RNAseq or single cell RNAseq
