**The Role**
The Directorate of Honours and Awards provides medallic recognition to current serving and former Australian Defence Force members, and Australian Public Service (APS) Defence employees. Awards are issued from the Imperial and Australian honours and awards systems from World War One to the current day. Additionally, the Directorate provides recognition to APS Defence employees to acknowledge their personal and professional achievements. These include the Public Service Medal, Defence Commendation Scheme and the Australia Day Achievement Award.

In this role you will support the work of the Directorate by preparing draft executive, ministerial and parliamentary correspondence, briefs and submissions relating to honours and awards.

The nature of the work in Directorate is quite dynamic and the role will require effective time management and coordination of competing priorities. You will need to work closely with other teams within the Directorate and will require highly developed written and verbal communication skills. You will monitor the group inbox to help manage workflow and provide support and direction to other teams who require assistance with the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).
