About the role

Our South Australian Mobile Donation Unit seeks an experienced leader to step into the Session Leader role to provide on-the-ground leadership to our teams travelling across regional, rural & suburban South Australia. Reporting to the Donor Centre Manager, you'll provide operational oversight to ensure that the end-to-end donation experience runs efficiently without compromising quality or safety while supporting a medium-sized team of collections staff as well as be hands-on to help our donors through their donation process alongside the multi-disciplinary team to achieve collection targets.

The South Australian Mobile team operate mobile donor centres throughout South Australia with regional locations as far as Mount Gambier, Port Lincoln & Whyalla. As a travelling team, the South Australia Mobile Unit includes both Car (vehicle provided) & Airplane travel, with many of our sites requiring travel away from home for up to 5 days per week. In a 12-week period, approximately 8-10 weeks of this time will incorporate travel & accommodation away from Adelaide CBD; please note - some months include more travel than others, pending demand for our life-giving products.

This position is a unique opportunity to work in a motivated collections team and play a pivotal role in driving cultural change, performance, and engagement, all while collecting life-saving donations from our regional South Australian Donors.

**A day in the centre could see you**:
Lead the team in providing a positive experience for all donors by respecting their time and demonstrating genuine appreciation for their blood donation.

Oversee the team and identify the appropriate staff to undertake complex donor assessments and liaise as required with the relevant escalation points.

Oversee the team to manage adverse donor reactions quickly and appropriately, inclusive of first line recovery procedures in the event of a donor reaction and initiate allergic reaction treatment

Coach, develop and support employees to deliver improved performance and productivity and foster employee engagement, collaboration and teamwork.

Manage on the job employee behaviour and performance

Oversee the training, on the job coaching and assessment of new team members to ensure competence.

Work with the team and DCM to design, implement and follow up on centre engagement plans
