New Role within the public Sector working as a Technical Officer - Environmental Monitoring.

**Your new company**
Our client is a Brisbane Based public sector authority. They are looking to engage a Technical Officer - Environmental Monitoring to provide provision of routine and ad-hoc environmental monitoring. You will be within the SAS Laboratory section in the Commercial Customer Group.

**Your new role**
In your new role, you will be, with your team, sampling and analysing a range of water, wastewater and environmental samples for multiple clients across all different sites (reticulated networks, environmental waters and sewage treatment plants). As well as:

- Provide scientific inputs during response to environmental incidents
- Perform field duties including routine and non-routine bottle preparation
- Enter data on the Laboratory Information Management System
- Calibrate and maintain field and laboratory instruments in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures in performing microbiological and/or chemical analysis
- ability to conform to the requirements for NATA accreditation
- experience in the safe operation of vehicles in urban, country and off-road conditions
- Proven experience with working within a team, strong customer service skills, outcome driven and initiative.
- Must have a C class manual driver’s license.

**What you'll get in return**
Our client is offering around $35 an hour, with full time hours (38 hours per week). This contract is temporary, looking at 3 months initially. Chance to extend based on performance.
