**What you will be doing**:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Divisional Manager to join the Nepean Hospital Team on a Full Time Permanent Assignment. The Divisional Manager works in a triumvirate model in partnership with the Clinical Director and Nurse Manager, to provide a high level of leadership, governance and resource management across the Medicine Division within Nepean Hospital to ensure the efficient and effective strategic and operational performance of the Division and Stream. The position is utilised as an authority and provider of sound operational and business advice for the Division, Stream and Network on all matters of performance and operations to ensure the efficient and effective strategic and operational performance of the Division and Stream. The position is a senior management position which sits on the Executive team of Nepean Hospital.

The Division of Medicine at Nepean Hospital consists of two sets of services. Acute Medical Specialties and Chronic and Complex Medicine. Acute medicine provides care to patients with single and multi-system diseases from a variety of age groups. Services include Infectious Diseases/ Sexual Health, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Genetics, Renal, Cardiology, Respiratory, Nepean Outreach Service, Medical Outpatients, Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Chronic and Complex Medicine provides care to older patients who present with multi-system diseases and are typically over the age of 70 years, or 55 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. Services include Geriatric Medicine, Rehabilitation and Neurology. The Basic Physician Training (BPT) Network and Forensic Medical Unit are also part of the Division of Medicine.

The Stream of Medicine covers the delivery of all Acute, Chronic and Complex Care across the District’s Hospitals including Nepean, Springwood, Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Portland and advice to Hawkesbury as agreed.

The role will also participate in the Executive On-Call roster.

**Selection Criteria to be Addressed**:

- Extensive experience in a senior management role within a complex healthcare environment and/or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Management or related fields.
- A comprehensive knowledge of National, State and Local Health District Policy directions.
- Extensive experience in and understanding of partnerships with consumers, carers and health related organisations in the non-government sector and government sector.
- Proven capacity to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and support teams in a complex multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated advance competence and extensive experience in all aspects of financial management to maintain service delivery within the Service.
- Demonstrated strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated advanced competency in project management, including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills with high level conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
