The Role:
We're looking for an Assistant Venue Manager - Hospitality to help lead day-to-day operations.
As AVM - Hospitality, you will support the Venue Manager across our multiple bars, food outlets and activation spaces - focusing on bar operations, front of house, stock control, staffing, and guest experience.
You'll work alongside an AVM - Theatre (who manages the theatre spaces, ushers, producers, riggers, show logistics etc) - so you can focus on delivering exceptional service across hospitality and front of house.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee bar and front of house hospitality operations across the precinct
Lead the venue when the Venue Manager is off-site
Roster and supervise bar and floor staff during service
Assist with stock, supplier coordination and deliveries
Help drive revenue targets and meet cost KPIs
Ensure compliance with licensing, permits, RSA, safety and industry standards
About You:
Proven hospitality leadership in a high-volume venue (multi-space venue experience is preferred but not essential)
Experience managing staff and running service
Confident in stock management, supplier coordination and back of house processes
Cool and logical under pressure - with a positive, get-the-job-done attitude
Hands-on and happy to dive into whatever task is needed
Be a core part of Melbourne's next hospitality institution, that will reshape the CBD's cultural landscape
A planned 9-month season with a 3-month off-season gives you time to reset, rest, or plan - and yes, you're paid for the full 12 months
