An exciting time to join a Cyber Security team that looks after part of an ASX listed business. The team is around 8 people in Cyber and growing and this role will play a pivotal part in the Cyber Defence function.

The role is permanent, with long term prospects offering options to people that come in and perform. You will be challenged and have the chance to learn on the job.

This role is 3 days a week in Perth CBD Office.

The Role:

A rare combination of hands on operations and strategic input.
As a senior engineer, your role will cover escalated incidents, owning the SIEM, fine tuning and automating the defence environment, and collaborating with the cyber team.

You will also work with leadership to map out what the next one to three years look like, how the business should think about emerging threats and of course, AI.

The culture is a tight knit team, who all work hard for each other and encourage collaboration. This is a key hire for the business.

Some Experience Requested:

  • Proven experience in SOC or cyber engineer, responding to and resolving escalated cyber incidents
  • Strong technical skills in SIEM (preferably Microsoft Sentinel), KQL, and automation tools like Logic Apps or Power Automate
  • Skilled in Python scripting, log analysis, and working across large data sets to isolate problems and deliver solutions
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, shaping what "good" looks like
  • Excellent communication skills, must be able to explain technical issues and influence decision-making
  • Comfortable balancing day-to-day operational work with long-term strategic planning
