In this role, you'll help shape public engagement across major infrastructure and service delivery programs. You'll bring people along on the journey — keeping stakeholders informed, involved, and inspired through clear, engaging communication and well-designed consultation strategies.

Your Day-to-Day Might IncludeDeveloping and delivering best-practice communications and engagement strategies under the IAP2 framework
Designing and managing campaigns to inform, consult and engage the community on key initiatives
Advising internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams on community engagement needs and approaches
Creating and reviewing written content — media statements, briefing notes, newsletters, social posts, and more
Identifying sensitive or high-impact issues and shaping proactive communication strategies
Building and maintaining strong relationships with government, industry, and community partners
Supporting the organisation's digital engagement tools (e.g. Engagement HQ, Engagement Hub)
Acting as a culture champion — promoting customer-centric values, safety, and integrity
What We're Looking ForTertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field — or at least 5 years of proven experience in a similar role
IAP2 Certification (or strong working knowledge of the framework)
Demonstrated experience leading communications and engagement for complex or high-profile projects
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
A proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Knowledge of digital engagement tools and trends
A commitment to safety, professionalism, and community-first thinking.
