The Role:

  • Assist adults to recover from their experience of family violence through theprovision of information, assessment, phase 1 counselling, referrals and other appropriate forms oftherapeutic intervention.
  • Provide information and support, referral and advice to clients and other service providers.
  • Identify, develop, provide services required to meet the needs of adults, children and young people affectedby family violence.
  • Liaise with other relevant program areas to ensure coordination of services, including other Safe at Homeservice providers.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family violence and its impact on adults, children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults, children and young people with complex needs andapply appropriate models of intervention, including the developmental needs of children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative, work with general supervision andseek guidance as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise and monitor a busy workload while providinga high standard of client care.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form, and liaise effectively with clients, carers and other staffand stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and be adaptable and flexible in a complexenvironment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, research and ongoing professional development.
  • Understand the principles of primary health care and the needs and best interests of adults, children andyoung people affected by family violence.

The Team:

Work as an effective member of a professional team in the provision of services to adults and children affected by family violence as part of the multidisciplinary Family Violence Service established through the Government's Safe at Home initiative. You will provide specialist services to adults, children and young people affected by family violence in accordance with best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. Provide programs that incorporate multi-level assessments and interventions and support the needs of children and young people affected by family violence.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time day worker, working 60.8 hours per fortnight,commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$73,834 to $111,364 per annum pro rata+ our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Allowances:

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or in the case of self-regulated allied health professions with either full membership or eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • Current Working with Children Registration
