We are located in Broken Hill, a town in far west NSW with a supportive community and a regional lifestyle.

Responsibilities
  • Provide transport and other duties for the Broken Hill Health Service which include: transfer of in-patients from Far West LHD Public hospital to another hospital facility, medical appointments, nursing homes or private residences, Airport/RFDS, under the direct supervision of a Registered or Enrolled Nurse.
  • Transport staff and deliver items as requested.
  • Check and maintain vehicles.
  • Plan and arrange maintenance of vehicles.

About The Far West LHD

The Far West Local Health District is 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing public health services to communities in far west NSW. Our vision is to create excellence in rural and remote healthcare. We employ well over 800 clinicians and support staff across nine health facilities in Broken Hill and surrounding towns.

How To Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible.

  • Current NSW Drivers Licence Class C and Current Apply First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physically capable of transferring patients, loading, unloading and manoeuvring patients around, on and off stretchers or wheelchairs.
  • Demonstrated experience with using computer systems and Microsoft programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of challenges of working in a remote area.
  • Demonstrated previous experience relating to the position.
