Fashion Designer @ leading fashion marketplace — 6 Month Max Term Contract role based in Sydney, NSW, AU. Join to apply for the Fashion Designer @ leading fashion marketplace role at Hatch. The role sits in the Own Brand Design Team and reports to the Own Brand Design Manager. As the #1 fashion e-commerce & lifestyle destination in the region, our platforms provide an inspiring and seamless end-to-end customer experience through our own technology innovations.
Responsibilities- Lead the design direction and create captivating collection in line with your brand/brands from start to finish.
- Maintain a close link with manufacturers to ensure seamless handover of developments, making sure all tech packs submitted are accurate, completed and submitted in line with company timelines.
- Communicate regularly with the Design Team to ensure any critical design issues or developments are highlighted and resolved when required
- Select, develop, and source fabrications, colours, trims etc. in line with company standards
- Attends fit sessions and uses technical ability to ensure best fit is achieved and approve final samples with GT
- Approve all details of final product in line with original design brief
- Understands the manufacturing structure of the supplier's business in order to recognise cost & manufacturing opportunities for every design submitted
- Participating in range planning meetings to ensure the range is balanced in styling, colour and fabrications.
- Understand and drive company wide strategies and Objectives and Key Results
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Junior Designer/Designer role
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong trend forecasting skills with a commercial eye for fashion
- Ability to time manage work load in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
- Proficient in illustrator and photoshop would be advantageous
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
