Electrical Field Services Engineer

We are currently looking to hire a Field Services Engineer based in Botany to meet project demands. This is a permanent, full-time position with a rostered schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer locations across metropolitan and regional/remote areas, often involving extended road trips, flights, and multi-day stays in hotels.
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on X-ray and trace detection systems at client sites and Smiths Detection service centers.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities in line with service agreements and timelines.
  • Address equipment malfunctions and conduct corrective maintenance in accordance with service level agreements and performance targets.
  • Use tools such as multimeters, laptops, and built-in system software to test components and circuits in X-ray machines.
  • Identify and troubleshoot the underlying causes of mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in equipment operating at 24 volts or below.
Requirements
  • Must be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent resident visa
  • Hold a Certificate 3 Electrical Trade Qualification or a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent
  • Provisional or unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to obtain security clearances and industry licenses
