Ignite have partnered with a global leader in threat detection and security screening technologies, dedicated to making the world a safer place. With over 7 decades of experience, the company provides advanced solutions to protect society from the illegal passage of explosives, prohibited weapons, contraband, biological threats, toxic chemicals, and narcotics.

We are currently looking to hire a Field Services Engineer based in Botany to meet project demands. This is a permanent, full-time position with a rostered schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Traveling to customer locations across both metropolitan and regional/remote areas, often involving extended road trips, flights, and multi-day stays in hotels.
  • Performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on X-ray and trace detection systems at client sites and Smiths Detection service centers.
  • Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance activities in line with service agreements and timelines.
  • Addressing equipment malfunctions and conducting corrective maintenance in accordance with service level agreements and performance targets.
  • Using tools like multimeters, laptops, and built-in system software to test components and circuits in X-ray machines.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting the underlying causes of mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in equipment operating at 24 volts or below.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or hold currently hold a permanent resident visa
  • Hold a Certificate 3 Electrical Trade Qualification or a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent
  • Provisional or unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to obtain security clearances and industry licenses
