Overview

Senior Property Coordinator role at Department of Education, Western Australia. This is a permanent full‑time position commencing ASAP.

Role and responsibilities

The Senior Property Coordinator manages the Department's occupied and surplus property to meet requirements and ensures under‑utilised premises, either owned or leased, are available for use within the Department's accommodation needs. They negotiate and coordinate office accommodation, maintenance of leased premises, building management and office fitouts. If successful, you will prepare budgets, coordinate resources, manage contracts, authorise payments and procure goods and services to implement agreed initiatives. You will also monitor and report on performance. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, principles and guidelines for property management.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must: be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment; consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number before you start; hold or obtain a current Western Australian C Class driver's licence; undertake travel throughout metropolitan and regional locations as required.

  • Demonstrated substantial experience in property management and leasing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience to manage minor works and maintenance projects.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), including negotiation and mediation skills, and the ability to develop and leverage working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated resource management and planning skills including financial management and information management and the ability to lead teams.
  • Demonstrated highly developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to complete work within timeframes.
