Senior Project Planner

Overview

Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia and Bouygues Construction Australia.

The joint venture combines experienced local personnel and expertise with unrivalled global scale, resources, and experience.

Terra Verde has been awarded the contract to design and construct nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.

The Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is the biggest infrastructure project in Victoria's history. It will help shape Melbourne and Victoria for future generations, ensuring Melbourne remains one of the world's most liveable cities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support the successful delivery of the project. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will oversee the planning and scheduling function, ensuring that all project timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics are achieved. This role involves execution planning, schedule maintenance, risk analysis, progress evaluation, and comprehensive reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain construction, procurement, and deliverables schedules based on the Work Breakdown Structure and contract requirements.
• Develop construction programs that reflect methodologies, identify milestones, and manage constraints.
• Ensure compliance with planning processes and controls as outlined in the Construction Management System and contract requirements.
• Contribute to the identification and mitigation of project risks and opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date program data in Primavera P6, including Earned Value (EV), cost, and revenue cash flow requirements.
• Coordinate monthly program reviews with delivery teams and compile comprehensive project program reports.
• Advise project managers on report interpretation, project performance, and corrective actions to optimize outcomes.
• Prepare staging documentation for meetings and reviews.
• Foster strong relationships and clear communication with project teams.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in a senior planning role within the construction industry.
• Extensive experience on complex, high-value infrastructure or rail projects.
• Seniority level: Mid-Senior level.
• Employment type: Full-time.

Skills and Attributes

• Proven expertise with industry-standard planning software, including Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, and Microsoft Project.
• Hands-on experience in planning, logic diagrams, critical path networks, and detailed construction schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and project control software.
