The Role

The Project Planner - Renewable Energy will ensure projects are planned to control time aspects, optimise resources and minimise construction costs. It provides robust planning options throughout project execution and delivers an effective planning service. The planner will assist in providing Earned Value Management data as directed by the planning lead and help drive a planning culture across projects based on best practice with a proactive focus on risk management and SQE. The role ensures project planning activities comply with project policies and procedures as well as the National Code of Practice (NCOP) for the construction industry and relevant implementation guidelines. This role will focus on renewable projects, particularly Solar and BESS; experience in these projects is viewed favourably.

Responsibilities
  • Expert in developing project plans in accordance with organisational procedures and guidelines
  • SQE legislation, contractual and legislative compliance, risk management and regulatory frameworks
  • Contribute to development or revision of strategic direction for projects or programs
  • Full working knowledge of SQ&E legislation, approvals and contractual requirements relevant to work
  • People management skills, including managing work and performance of teams and subcontractors
  • Coaching, mentoring, and leading teams with direction
  • Financial management skills, including reducing costs and meeting budgets
  • Implementing planning processes and/or audit and scheduling systems
  • Developing, analysing and reporting on project performance, compliance and defects/non-conformance
  • Document and record management process and procedures
  • Identify and modify work processes, technology and/or products
  • Experience with planning software (e.g., Time Chainage Diagram, Time Risk Analysis, 4D Modelling, Earned Value and Cash Flow Analysis)
  • Knowledge of planning principles and project scope across all phases
  • Knowledge of the Project Delivery Manual and Project Management Plans
  • Knowledge of pre-contracts area, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems
  • Knowledge of risk management procedures and management tools
  • Auditing compliance and reporting procedures and processes
About You
  • Diploma in Engineering / Planning, or
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Planning
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in construction, Project Controls, Engineering and Planning
  • Experience in the planning process and risk management
  • Experience in managing planning of major projects and tenders
  • Understanding of pre-contracts, compliance and reporting procedures
  • Sound knowledge of the Project Delivery Manual and Project Management plans
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures
  • Strategic planning and establishing policies/procedures
