The RoleWe are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our growing team in our West Perth office. The successful candidate will provide strong team leadership driving workforce engagement, performance, productivity & alignment with Warrikal values & culture amongst the procurement team and relevant stakeholders.
In this role, you will lead the execution of the procurement value program, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines and performance metrics. You will manage a small team of procurement professionals, driving high standards of productivity and effectiveness. The Senior Procurement Specialist will ensure all procurement activities deliver value for money, and support business continuity objectives.
Responsibilities- Mentor procurement staff and promote a culture of improvement, accountability, and commercial focus
- Negotiate agreements with non-contracted suppliers to deliver new sources of value
- Participate in business planning and influence sourcing and supplier strategies
- Lead procurement initiatives to achieve defined value outcomes.
- Manage full procurement lifecycle to optimise value and reduce risk
- Develop procurement policies and ensure adherence to legal and internal standards
- Monitor and mitigate procurement risks.
- Maintain robust internal controls for accurate spend and reporting
- Align procurement with operational needs and foster strong supplier relationships
- Act as escalation point for disputes and supplier performance issues
- Must be eligible to work in Australia
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Law, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in procurement, including at least 3 years in a senior or superintendent-level role
- Proven track record in leading procurement strategies within complex environments
- Experience in the resources, maintenance, or construction industries is highly regarded
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership within procurement functions
- Ability to manage compliance, risk, and value-for-money outcomes effectively
- Current driver's licence and a willingness and ability to travel to regional sites as required
