Library Service & Technology Officer
Wollongong City Libraries (WCL) delivers innovative, inclusive library services that connect our community with knowledge, technology, and lifelong learning across seven library locations. This permanent full-time role is based at Wollongong City Library with potential travel across locations and occasional weekend/evening work.
Responsibilities- Lead and support technology-driven projects, from optimising the Library Management System (SPYDUS) to improving rostering tools and in-library technology.
- Collaborate across teams to identify service improvement opportunities using data, feedback, and evidence-based practices.
- Support innovation by assessing, developing, and implementing new tools, systems, and policies responding to evolving community needs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and contribute to a culture of inclusion, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Help deliver the Wollongong City Libraries Strategy 2024-2028 goals and support service quality across all locations.
- Proactive, community-focused professional with a mix of technical know-how, customer service excellence, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with library systems and supporting others with technology; experience in collections, outreach, or digital engagement is desirable.
- Strong communication, organised, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple locations with staff and volunteers.
- Relevant qualification and a willingness to obtain or hold a Paid NSW Working With Children Check.
- Commitment to inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Evening and weekend shifts are part of the role; physically capable of performing duties.
- Salary from $85,916.92 to $96,259.86 per annum, plus superannuation (package depends on skills and qualifications).
- Travel across seven library locations within the Wollongong Local Government Area as required.
- Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, designation requiring a paid Working With Children Check.
