We are on the lookout for a passionate and proactive Work Health & Safety Officer to become an integral part of our team.

As a City we are committed to working safe, and going home safe. You will play a pivotal role in the ongoing development of our safety culture and associated positive behaviours across all levels of the organisation. Most importantly, you'll be part of the dedicated WHS team making sure our employees are equipped to work safely, and go home each night uninjured and unhurt.

We can offer you the opportunity to apply your knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance issues in all facets of health and safety practices on a daily basis, across a diverse workforce. You will draw on your knowledge and experience to provide accurate and timely advice to the organisation, ensuring we continue to meet (perhaps even exceed) compliance and legislative requirements. Applying your strong interpersonal and communication skills, you'll ensure that the safety message is delivered and understood across the City.

About

How will we know you're the outstanding Safety Officer we're looking for? In your online application, you will tell us about your:

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including report writing skills
  • Developed knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, practices, procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of contemporary injury management and risk management practices and principles
  • Experience in WHS management within a multidisciplinary organisation
  • Experience in the development and implementation of safety policies, strategies and procedures
  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or equivalent
  • Current unrestricted 'C' class driver's licence

We are offering a gross salary of $91,088 to $97,835 per annum depending on skills and experience. But this job is so much more than the money.
  • You'll also receive 12% superannuation, and be able to co-contribute up to 5% - that's a possible 22% in total
