Reporting to the Sales Estimating Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Producing sales estimates reflecting customer requirements, including standard options, nonstandard variations, foundation and footing requirements, and inclusions to meet siting and regulatory standards.
  2. Ensuring all engineer's report requirements are incorporated into preliminary and contract documents.
  3. Following company checklists to capture and process all information needed for fixed site costs.
  4. Supporting various workflow stages with sales estimates, including amendments for permits, customer selections, contracts, and post-contract variations.
  5. Modifying sales estimates to suit engineers, surveyors, and building surveyors' requirements.
  6. Preparing and documenting estimates according to Metricon's design and construction details.
  7. Calculating quantities and maintaining inventories for standard options using Metricon's estimating software.
  8. Setting prices based on supplier rates and margin schedules.
  9. Liaising with internal teams such as Sales, Design, and Purchasing.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years of experience with an Australian residential builder as a Sales or Production Estimator
  • Knowledge of the building and construction industry
  • An Associate Diploma in Building Construction or equivalent (preferred)
  • Proven experience in estimating and knowledge of the Building Code of Australia
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and providing feedback
  • The ability to thrive in a goal-driven team environment
