This full-time role offers a stable Monday to Friday roster with no evening or weekend shifts. You'll be responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations, preparing meals, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and supporting a dedicated team. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who values routine, teamwork, and meaningful work in a caring environment.

Job Description

The Role:

Cater Care Australia seeks to appoint a Chef Manager at our aged care residence in Jesmond, NSW.

Organising day-to-day operations; this is the ideal role for someone who wants to provide a fantastic meal experience to our residents and values a well-run kitchen.

Roster:

Monday to Friday - 9am to 5:30pm

What This Role Involves:

  • Dual responsibilities in food preparation / presentation and site management
  • Overall cost management with a focus on food and labour costs
  • Stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking
  • Adherence to food hygiene & safety practices
  • Demonstrable team management, development & leadership
  • Assisting the broader team as required
Desired Skills and Experience

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Experience with managing labour, food & operational costs
  • Previous experience in operating kitchens and/or site management
  • Pride in personal appearance & hygiene
