About The RoleReporting to and working closely with the Facility Manager, you will lead and oversee the daily operations of both housekeeping and laundry functions to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and safe environment for residents. The role also ensures the facility and teams uphold Aged Care compliance standards, infection control and quality assurance processes.
This is a collaborative and hands on leadership role suited to an experienced Team Leader who enjoys supporting their team succeed in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Supervise, coordinate and mentor housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure timely completion of tasks to a high standard
- Quality Control and Safety: Ensure all housekeeping and laundry services comply with organisational polices, aged care standards, infection prevention and control guidelines and workplace health and safety regulations
- Audits: Conduct regular internal audits of housekeeping and laundry practices addressing non-conformances promptly
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records relating to cleaning schedules, laundry cycles, stock levels, incident reports and compliance checks, ensuring documentation is up to date and accessible for audits and accreditation
- Quality Improvements: Actively contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Use data from resident feedback, audits and incident reports to identify trends and areas for service enhancement
- Risk Management: Identify risks in service delivery (e.g. infection outbreaks, equipment failures, supply shortages) and implement mitigations strategies in collaboration with management
- Confidentiality: Handle resident information, incident reports and staff performance issues with discretion and in accordance with privacy and confidentiality standards
- Professional development: Stay informed about changes to aged care legislation, workplace safety requirements ensuring team practices remain current and compliant.
- People Leadership: Provide effective and accountable leadership to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, respect and inclusion.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the first point of contact for residents in relation to housekeeping and laundry services. Actively listen to concerns, respond promptly to requests and ensure services meet resident expectations whilst maintaining dignity and respect.
