Join to apply for the Senior Product Designer role at Lyrebird Health.
About Us
Lyrebird Health is transforming the quality and accessibility of healthcare by automating clinicians' most time-consuming tasks. Our AI-powered platform helps doctors, specialists, and allied health professionals reclaim hours every day — reducing admin, improving documentation, and freeing them up to focus on their patients.
We're a fast-growing team building technology healthcare professionals actually want to use. Trusted in General Practice, Allied Health and Specialist clinics around Australia, Lyrebird is saving clinicians up to two hours per day — and we're just getting started. We believe good design is what turns smart tech into something that's actually helpful. That's where you come in.
What you'll be doing- Own your work end-to-end — from early exploration through to shipped product. Communicate ideas through concepts and interactive prototypes at various fidelities, align with engineers, clinicians, or leadership.
- Explore product opportunities by reviewing user feedback, analyzing usage patterns, sketching ideas, and testing assumptions.
- Proactively run user research — reach out to clinicians, conduct interviews, and feed real-world insights into your work.
- Solve complex UX challenges in a domain with nuance, regulation, and real-world consequences.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to scope features, refine flows, and adapt designs as products evolve.
- Help shape the product roadmap by staying close to the work and the people using it.
- Contribute across the team — provide feedback, unblock teammates, and refine flows in Figma.
- Redesign onboarding to reflect how clinics actually set up and start using Lyrebird.
- Build intuitive ways for doctors to personalise AI-generated notes — beyond just a few clicks.
- Simplify complex flows to fit into a 15-minute consult.
- Identify small improvements that improve day-to-day clinical life.
- Creativity and craft — strong UX/UI skills with attention to detail across complex flows and micro-interactions.
- End-to-end experience — delivered real features in real products (SaaS or similar), ideally 6+ years in cross-functional teams.
- Curiosity and initiative — you ask questions, dive in, and don't wait for permission.
- Product-minded problem solving — you connect things beyond the screen and translate needs into usable solutions.
- Strong communication — able to walk through designs, write clear updates, and give constructive feedback.
- Technical awareness — you don't need to code but understand how things get built and work with engineers.
- User research confidence — comfortable talking to clinicians and integrating insights into design.
- Respect for accessibility, usability, and time pressure — designing for busy professionals with real stakes.
- Bonus — experience in healthcare, AI, or high-stakes environments with edge cases.
- You'll have real ownership and input into design and ways of working.
- The design function is still forming, offering space to shape rather than fit in.
- We're solving meaningful problems with direct impact on healthcare delivery.
- You'll work with a high-trust team that values craft, healthy feedback, and momentum.
- We're moving fast but thoughtful, shipping real things to real users.
- This is a senior IC role — hands-on, high-impact, with no people management expected.
At Lyrebird, you'll help shape the future of the human experience. If you want to pioneer, create, and see your work touch lives directly, we'd love to hear from you.
Diversity and inclusionWe're building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who'll benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. If you're from an underrepresented background in tech, we especially encourage you to apply — even if you don't meet every single requirement.
