Chinese – Australian Sales / Business Development Executive
- Full-time
- Up to an $80,000 base + super + open ended commissions
We are seeking an English and Chinese speaking (reading and writing) dynamic and results-driven, sales professional to join an Australian media company that targets the Chinese audience here.
Our client is an authorised Australian entity selling a highly regarded Chinese platform with over 1 million users here in the Australian marketplace. Your role will be to identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, and drive revenue growth.
The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Mandarin (reading, writing, and speaking) and have at least some understanding of Chinese social media platforms. It's your sales experience we are looking for; the business can teach you all about the product offering. Your ability to open doors and present the case is what we are after, the product will then sell itself.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for the business here in Australia
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential advertisers
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs within the local Chinese media sector
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling collateral, proposals and presentations
- Negotiate contracts and close business deals that align with company objectives
- Track, analyse, and report on sales performance and business growth metrics
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build business connections
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role
- An understanding of Chinese media platforms here in Australia and abroad
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct basic research to analyse market trends, identify prospects and develop plans to connect with them
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving sales targets
- Experience working with email and other outreach tools is a plus
